Financial Excellence Ltd (FinExcel) has appointed Selim Barkat as chairman of the company at its 15th annual general meeting on September 12, 2026.
Selim brings nearly four decades of leadership experience in banking and financial services in Bangladesh and the United States. His areas of expertise include strategic leadership, corporate governance, risk management, transaction banking, treasury and capital markets, according to a press release.
Most recently, he served as regional general manager of Habib Bank Limited (HBL) for Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. In the role, he helped drive the bank’s strategic transformation in the South Asia region.
